Telenor Pakistan is a name worthy of immense praise and celebration in Pakistan’s Telecommunication sector. After receiving its commercial license to initiate its telecom services in Pakistan, Telenor became functional in March 2005. In this substantial period of 14 years, the company has made significant successes in terms of Pakistan’s Telecom advancements.
In the race to release the latest internet technology of 4G mobile internet services, Telenor had to lose to Zong. However, this felt deliberate when the company emerged as the first Pakistani Telcom to launch 4.5G (LTE Advanced) in Pakistan.
Now, being a leading innovator of digital technology in Pakistan, the company is now making further noticeable measures to stamp their authority in the Telcom sector. Telenor is partnering with Google to become the first Telecom operator to allow the prepaid Android users to manage their mobile data usage and price plans directly from their phones.
According to the Chief Digital and Strategy Officer, Telenor Pakistan:
“At Telenor Pakistan, our valued customers are at the core of everything we do and Mobile Data Plan is another stride towards increased personalization and empowerment for our customers to enjoy a seamless data experience by being able to subscribe to exciting offers within the operating system of their Android phones.
We are humbled and ecstatic to be first across the industry to provide this solution that promises to give our valued customers greater flexibility to choose a data plan tailored to their needs.”
Telenor’s Mobile Data Plan Display – How will this work?
According to the company, this feature will be accessible through the phone’s settings under Mobile Data Plan. The feature allows users (prepaid only) to analyze and choose a suitable internet package based on their preferences of usage and pricing. This feature will eradicate the need for googling your preferred data bundle’s code. Telenor claims that this convenience for its users will bring positive feedbacks as it promotes ease of accessibility.
Tutorial
To maximize accessibility for its customers, Telenor has launched a tutorial video for is users. It will eradicate all sorts of confusions regarding the simple yet effective procedure.
Mike Hayes, Managing Director Platforms and Ecosystems, APAC, Google shared his views on Google’s collaboration with Telenor:
“Earlier this year we worked with Telenor to bring people a simpler way to manage their mobile data directly within Android, first with DTAC in Thailand and Digi in Malaysia.
We are pleased to see Telenor expand this effort by bringing Mobile Data Plan to Pakistan, which will provide new personalized offers to their customers to help manage their mobile data service.”
Telenor’s on-the-fly digital distribution platform is a huge success for the company. It makes it the first telecom operator in the country to provide real-time personalized offers on an Android phone. Surely, this feature does justice to Telenor’s slogan “Jo Har Pakistani Chahay!”.
