Nope, Stripe has not come to Pakistan yet. There are other alternatives to it, that are just as efficient.

The reason: many times companies like Stripe are startups that have a low operating budget. They mostly operate in their own domain, but that does not mean they’ll never come to Pakistan. Pakistan could be on their radar and they may have plans to expand in Pakistan in the future.

All we can do is hope for the best

Pakistanis are familiar with the traditional banking system. Today, in this age, when everything from ordering food to conducting business is going online. It can feel a bit intimidating. Since we specialize in Fintech, we are in a position to recommend the best online payment solution currently available.

Choosing an e-wallet all depends upon your needs, so do your research beforehand. Here is a general overview of the notable.

    • JazzCash, if you’re a freelancer, JazzCash allows you to receive cash through your Payoneer account, with the lowest deductions. Payoneer has the minimum withdrawal limit of 100$, but with JazzCash it’s 1$. You can send/receive money, pay bills, etc just like any other service.
    • Easypaisa, if you only want to send/receive money in Pakistan. Since they have the largest network in Pakistan, Easypaisa is the go-to choice for many. It performs all the basic functions of an e-wallet.
    • Simsim, if you want to open a bank account. Simsim is operated by FINCA, meaning you can open a FINCA bank account in the future. It can also be used for online shopping( international sites are included too).
    • Sadapay, if you’re looking for the best bang of your buck. Sadapay is yet to release, but they provide the lowest rates as compared to the rest. You can get a Mastercard debit card for free too.

Head over to our payment category to keep yourself updated. New startups are added there regularly.

So the best method to use Paypal legally in Pakistan is to ask your relative or a friend in a foreign country to make you an account. Then you can use that account to withdraw money to your relative’s bank account and then that money can be transferred over to you in Pakistan through Skrill.

Here is our complete guide on using Skrill in Pakistan.

    Other alternatives are https://paypalpakistan.com/

These guys do the same thing as mentioned above but they charge you for it since they’re not your relative. Honestly, Paypal is a dying breed. Payoneer is the more optimal option for freelancers in Pakistan. Recently, they announced their partnership with Jazz, to address the needs of Pakistani freelancers.

  • The process of registering a company in Pakistan has all been shifted online. It’s quite simple and you can view our detailed guide. Everything from signing up to registering for taxes is explained in it.

The next logical step is to secure some clients. You can tap into your network, make a profile on freelancing sites, or create a website( which is more professional) to land some clients. You need to clearly note down their requirements before the development of the software.

After this, you start developing it. If you’re a developer then you can do it yourself, otherwise, you have to hire a team of freelancers. You can hire them per project or hourly. It all depends on the type of work. We recommend hiring local talent to support our economy.

Pakistani freelancers are talented and professional as well if you know what you’re looking for. Fiverr and Upwork are the most commonly used freelancing platforms in Pakistani There are also some Facebook groups- rates are cheaper there- give them a try too.

If all goes well, you’ll deliver the project to the client. Remember to leave a good impression because they can come back with more work or refer you to others.
